michael stone (he/him), program coach ready 4 life bay area

Michael wanted to be apart of the CROP organization because he has over 30 years of lived experience with Justice involvement, re-entry, and understanding the difficulties of trying to reestablish oneself back into society. He believes in the CROP’s Moto “Reimagining Reentry.” Michael has been a peer mentor and Coach of men for over 16 years, he has help create and develop innovative self-help programs inside of prison that show men that transformation is possible. Michael has used sports, art, and poetry to create the opportunity to get men to open up and deal with their trauma, to identify their dysfunctions an to understand that in-order to gain insight one must be honest and be willing to challenge themselves to try something different.

Michael believes in our cause and is determined to make a difference in the lives of our Fellows as well as the community, he is Ready 4 life and the challenges of preparing other men and women to be Ready 4 life as well. He is a graphic/tattoo artist, and a poet, and he loves to use poetry to express all the emotions that he experiences on a daily basis.
